How to Import/Export an iCal Calendar

Follow these steps to set up calendar synchronization between your Holidu account and other platforms:

  1. Log into your other platform and find the iCal sync options. Locate your iCal URL (export link).
  2. In another window, log into your Holidu account and select your property.
  3. On the left-hand side under Configuration, scroll down and click on iCal & Synchronization.
  4. Click on Configure and select the name of the channel you wish to synchronize from the list of options.
  5. Follow the two steps on the setup screen:
    • Step 1 – Import: Paste the iCal URL from the other provider into the "Address of iCal" field.
    • Step 2 – Export: Copy Holidu's iCal URL and paste it into the iCal import section on the other provider's platform.
  6. Click Save.

Important Notes for Popular Platforms

Booking.com

In the export settings on Booking.com, make sure to tick the box for Booked and Closed Dates. This ensures both confirmed bookings and manual blocks sync with Holidu. For detailed instructions, visit the Booking.com iCal help article.

Airbnb

Airbnb iCal supports synchronization only from today until the next 364 days. Dates beyond this range will not be synchronized. For more information, refer to the Airbnb iCal instructions.

Troubleshooting Tips

Check the URL

Ensure the iCal URL is copied correctly without any typos. A single character error may cause the sync to fail entirely. Double-check before pasting the URL into the configuration field.

Refresh Your Calendar

If the calendar does not update immediately after configuration, click the green "Refresh" button in your Holidu account. Synchronization may take a few minutes to complete, and blocks or bookings should appear shortly after.

Manual Test

Always test the connection by creating a test block on each calendar to confirm proper synchronization. Create a block on one platform and verify it appears on the other platform within a few minutes. This confirms that your iCal sync is functioning correctly and bidirectional.
