- Accurate Expectations: Professional photographers have the experience and equipment to show your property in the best—and most truthful—light, so guests know what to expect on arrival.
- Highlighting Unique Features: Professionals know how to showcase the special features and amenities of your property and attract guests looking for that kind of stay.
Professional Photography Service
Holidu offers a free professional photography service in select focus regions. This service leverages local expertise to capture what works best in each market.
Important Note: The professional photography service is only available in Focus Regions. In certain areas, the service may not be available. Availability depends on photographer coverage in the specific geographic area. Not all properties are automatically eligible.
Understanding Professional Photos on Your Listing
- Photos taken by Holidu professionals are not reviewed before they go live on your listing. Our photography team selects and orders them based on channel performance data.
- All hosts, including those with professional Holidu photos, can fully manage their photo galleries.
- Holidu keeps a backup of all professional photos. If you delete one by mistake, you can request restoration through our support assistant.
- Professional photos are the property of Holidu and are not available for purchase by hosts.
Uploading Your Own Photos
If you're uploading your own photos or want to supplement professional images, keep these guidelines in mind to maximize their impact:
Photo Quality and Specifications
- Gallery Order: The first photo in your gallery is used as the main display image across partner channels. Gallery order significantly affects booking performance, so use high-quality, well-lit photos for your cover shot and first few images.
- Video Support: Videos are not supported—images only.
- File Formats: Supported formats are JPG, PNG, HEIC/HEIF, WebP, TIFF, and AVIF, within the platform's file-size limits.
- Orientation: Photos must be in landscape orientation.
- Lighting: Use good lighting to capture the best shots.
- Composition: Use wide angles to capture the full scope of your property.
- Minimum Quantity: Upload at least 10 photos.
- Resolution Requirements: Minimum resolution is 1,024 × 768 pixels. Recommended resolution is 2,000 pixels on the long edge for high-quality images.
How to Manage Your Photo Gallery
Adding New Photos
- Log in to your Holidu host account and select the property you want to edit.
- Click the Photos tab in the property navigation bar.
- Click Add Photo and upload images from your device.
- If using the Holidu app, allow Holidu to access images from your phone first.
- Click Save changes so your updates take effect.
Deleting Photos
- Log in to your Holidu host account and select the property.
- Click the Photos tab.
- Click the photo you want to delete and select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion.
- Click Save changes to apply your updates.
Note: Holidu keeps a backup of all photos, so deleted images can be restored on request. If you accidentally delete a professional or important photo, contact our support assistant for restoration.
Reordering Your Photos
- Log in to your Holidu host account and select the property.
- Click the Photos tab.
- Click and hold a photo you want to move.
- Drag it to the position you want and drop it.
- Click Save changes after reordering so your updates take effect.

To maximize bookings through your photo gallery:
- Ensure your first photo is visually appealing and represents your property well—it's what guests see first.
- Arrange photos logically, starting with exterior and common areas, then moving to bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Include photos of key amenities that attract your target guests.
- Keep photos consistent in style and lighting for a cohesive look.
- Regularly review and update photos to reflect any property improvements or seasonal changes.
