The Booking Modification feature lets you handle guest requests to change a booking directly from your Holidu account, so you can respond to guests faster and more efficiently.

Context: What is Booking Modification?

Previously, booking modification requests from guests on Airbnb or Booking.com required intermediary steps and manual coordination. Now, these requests are managed directly in your Holidu account, giving you a clearer view of each request and full control over your calendar and availability.

Your Benefits

  • Direct handling: Guest requests for booking changes come straight to you. You can approve, decline, or suggest modifications based on your availability and preferences without unnecessary intermediaries.
  • Faster responses: You can respond to guest requests in fewer steps. This reduces wait times and supports a better guest experience, leading to higher satisfaction ratings.
  • Better calendar control: You maintain complete control over your property's calendar and can make decisions that align with your hosting strategy.
  • More time for what matters: With fewer manual steps, you have more time to focus on hosting your guests well and managing your property.

How Does This Process Work?

Step 1: Receive Notifications

You'll receive notifications via email and the Holidu app whenever a guest submits a booking modification request. These notifications are sent immediately, allowing you to respond quickly.

Step 2: Review Requests in Your Account

Modification requests will also appear on your home page and booking overview in your Holidu account and in the Holidu app. All pending requests are displayed in one convenient location for easy access.

Step 3: Review Key Details

When reviewing a modification request, you'll see important information including:

  • Duration changes (number of nights being added or removed)
  • Guest count adjustments (additional guests or reductions)
  • Date modifications (specific dates being requested)
  • Updated earnings based on the modification (showing the price impact)

Step 4: Make Your Decision

After reviewing the request details, you can accept or reject it with a single click. Your decision is processed immediately and communicated to the guest.

Step 5: Guest Notification and Confirmation

The guest will be notified of your decision instantly, and updated booking details will be shared automatically. This ensures clear communication and allows the guest to plan accordingly.

Important Notes

  • To receive notifications from the Holidu app, ensure that push notifications are enabled in your device settings.
  • If you want to accept a modification with a different price than requested, please reach out to Holidu's Customer Support team so your request can be handled appropriately.

Where Does This Apply?

The Booking Modification feature is currently available for properties connected to Airbnb and Booking.com, as these channels generate the highest volume of modification requests.

During the initial rollout phase, some modification requests may still follow the previous process through our customer support team. This gradual implementation ensures a smooth transition and allows us to monitor the feature's performance. As we continue to expand and refine the feature, we'll work towards handling all modification requests directly in your account.

We're committed to continuously improving this feature based on host feedback and will expand its availability to additional channels in the future. If you have suggestions or encounter any issues, please contact our Customer Support team.
