Why didn't I receive my booking confirmation?
If you've booked a property for your vacation through Holidu, Booking.com, or Airbnb and haven't received your booking confirmation email, don't worry. There are several common reasons this happens, and we can help you locate your confirmation details.
Step 1: Search in your email inbox
The first place to look is your email account. Confirmation emails are sometimes filtered automatically or may have arrived in unexpected folders.
- Check your Received (Inbox) folder
- Check your Spam folder
- Check your Junk folder
- Check your Promotions tab (if you use Gmail)
Look for emails from Holidu, Booking.com, or Airbnb depending on which platform you used to book. You can search your email using keywords like "booking confirmation," "reservation," or "check-in" to speed up the process.
Step 2: Locate your booking confirmation in your account
For Holidu bookings
If you have a Holidu guest account, you can access your booking details directly:
- Log in to your Holidu account
- Go to "My Bookings"
- Find your booking and note your booking ID
- Use this booking ID to search your email inbox—this will help you identify which folder your confirmation email went to
- Review your booking details, including your host contact information and check-in instructions
For Booking.com bookings
When you book through Booking.com, you should receive two separate confirmation emails:
- One confirmation email from Booking.com containing your booking reference number and PIN (confidential information)
- One email from Holidu (if your payment was confirmed) containing your booking ID and host contact details
Both emails should be in the inbox you used when registering with Booking.com. To find your booking details:
- Log in to your Booking.com account
- Go to the "Bookings" section
- Find your reservation
- Note your booking reference number
- Search your email inbox using this booking reference to locate where the confirmation email was filed
If you still cannot find your Booking.com confirmation, you can visit Booking.com's help center and request them to resend your confirmation email.
For Airbnb bookings
Your confirmation email from Holidu, including the check-in form link, is sent through your Airbnb message thread:
- Log in to your Airbnb account
- Go to "Trips" to view your reservation
- Open the message thread with your host
- You will see your reservation details and booking reference within these messages
- Check your email inbox using the booking reference to identify which folder the confirmation email was delivered to
Why confirmation emails end up in spam
Booking confirmation emails commonly get filtered to spam or junk folders because:
- Your email provider's filter settings treat promotional or transactional emails as spam
- The sender's domain hasn't been added to your contacts or safe sender list
- Email authentication settings on the sender's domain may trigger filters
- You have overly strict email filters enabled
To prevent this in the future, add Holidu's email address and Booking.com's email address to your contacts or safe sender list.
What to do if you still can't find your confirmation
If you've checked all folders and cannot locate your confirmation email:
- Verify you're searching the correct email address—the one you used during booking
- Check if you booked as a guest without creating an account; if so, the confirmation was sent only to the email provided at checkout
- Ensure your inbox isn't full, which can prevent new emails from arriving
- Try using different search terms like your property name, destination, or dates of stay
Once you locate your booking confirmation or access your reservation details through your account, you'll have all the information you need for check-in, including your host's contact details, check-in instructions, and your booking reference number.
