Go and visit the Natural Bridge, one of America’s old tourist attractions. This is registered as a Historic Place that was formed when a cavern collapsed. As a state park nowadays, you can walk along the Cedar Creek Trail for a pleasant morning stroll and see Cascades Falls under the bridge. Visit the impressive Natural Bridge Caverns with the incredible Mirror Lake, the Colossal Dome room, and fantastic stalagmites and stalactites. These caverns go 34 stories underground! In Lace Falls you can see an interactive exhibit on the Monacans native tribe.

Visit the historic home of George Washington overlooking the Potomac River. Walk around the beautiful gardens and walk the different trails around the fabulous grounds, enjoy the exhibits, the museum and visit the tomb of the former president. Take a tour of the mansion and learn about the history of this iconic place. After the visit, have a delicious meal at Mount Vernon Inn and if you want to finish your day with a ride, rent a bike!

If you love animals in the wild, visit the islands of Assateague and Chincoteague, wildlife sanctuaries with incredible wetlands, marshes, a beautiful shoreline and it is home to more than 320 species. But the most popular residents of these two islands are the wild ponies! But Assateagues also is known for its incredible beach, ideal for swimming, spending a day under the sun with the children, and practising some water sports including kayaking. The little ones will enjoy collecting seashells. If you are looking for an active day, take a wildlife tour, watch the birds, visit the lighthouse and walk some nature trails.

Encompassing both Jamestown and Yorktown, the Colonial National Historic Park is where the Revolution ended. In Jamestown, John Smith established the oldest British settlement. Nowadays, a few remains including the church tower and the churchyard can be seen. There is also a recreation of a Powhatan village and a museum with exhibitions of the colonisation in the New World. Yorktown is also known for the battlefield but also for its beach and the boutiques. Marvel at the 18th century architecture and enjoy fresh seafood at a historic restaurant.

Luray Caverns are home to breathtaking calcite formations. Walk through the caves and marvel at the stalactites, stalagmites, and limestone crystals that create an impressive landscape. The interior houses the giant Double Column, Titania's Veil, interior lakes, and the unique Great Stalacpipe Organ! In addition to the caves you can visit the Luray Valley Museum, the Car & Carriage Caravan Museum and Toy Town Junction.

Arlington National Cemetery is one of the most visited sites. In here, rests President John F. Kennedy and there is also the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with the remains of soldiers from WWI and WWII, the Vietnam War, and the Korean Conflict. Williamsburg played a significant role in the American Revolution, and it is part of the “Historic Triangle” together with Jamestown and Yorktown.
