The name says it all: the picturesque Frisian village of Burdaard is inextricably linked to tourism.
In spring and summer, the village buzzes with water sports.
The beautiful boats and ships sailing through the village offer a romantic spectacle. During the icy winter, you can skate on many canals and locks, and with a bit of luck, you might even experience the well-known "Elfstedentocht" phenomenon. The Frisian landscape, with its beautiful nature, old farms, windmills, green meadows, and lovely villages and cities, can be discovered in many ways.
The entire area is dotted with cycling and walking routes, but it is also rich in waterways.
A boat trip to admire the beauty from the water is certainly worthwhile.
You can rent a boat directly in Burdaard (subject to availability). There are no facilities in the park itself, but many are within reach.
There is a supermarket (700 m), a bakery, an ATM, cafés and restaurants, and pleasant terraces where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or lunch by the Dokkumer Ee.
There is also a multifunctional center (500 m) with tennis courts, a fitness room, a swimming pool (lane swimming only), a playground, a cinema, and a theater.
For culture, shopping, sports, and other activities, you can visit Dokkum (10 km) or Leeuwarden (20 km). In Holwerd, less than 15 km away, you can take a ferry and, within an hour, experience the atmosphere and culture of the Wadden Islands, Ameland, and Schiermonnikoog. Sehr schönes Haus, ruhig gelegen. Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet. Erholung pur.
Wünschenswert wäre auch einen Insektenschutz im Wohnbereich und Bad.
